Some Tips on getting maximum benefits from EFT:
67Many people are practicing EFT these days and there are many webminars and teleseminars and conference calls that are being held where many experts are being interviewed and they share their expertise and knowledge. The person to indroduce EFT was Gary Craig. I have listened to some of these calls on the net and done some research and reading, tried out some of the things myself, and I am now compiling a list of tips so that you get maximum benefit from EFT. You can combine EFT with Ho’ oponopono or even with Sanskrit mantra’s to help heal yourself; these are also positive and powerful affirmations.

Tips to ensure you get maximum benefits from EFT
1) Always ensure that you are properly hydrated when you begin a tapping session. Drink lots of water because when there is not enough water in your body, or the cells in your body are dehydrated it may cause a “polarity reversal”. (This means that you are ensuring that your energy system is properly oriented before you attempt to remove the disruptions in it.) Also when you are tapping out negative issues, drink plenty of water after the tapping session too. It helps in draining the toxins out of your body.
2) All EFT sessions do not always result in one minute miracles, for some issues you may have to be persistent with your tapping. You might want to start a tapping discipline quite like a meditation discipline, and tap on issues you want to let go of consistently for 21 days or 40 days. This really helps in clearing out stubborn negative emotions and beliefs. Sometimes you need to tap on the “remaining pain” or “remaining discomfort” when majority of it is gone, but traces of it remain.
To get rid of all negativity either shake your hands vigourously after tapping on the negative issue before you start tapping in the positive round. (Reiki practioners also wash their hands after treating a patient, washing your hands with plain water also helps remove negativity.)
3) A set up statement is essential when you are tapping on negative issues to tap them out. If you do not know what phrases to use or what words to say, just say it aloud like you are talking to a friend about the issue that is bothering you while tapping on the set-up point- eg karate chop point.
4) If you are tapping in a positive statement, a set-up statement is not essential, because you are simple accepting the new behavior or belief into your system with no conflict.
5) Always state very specifically as to what you perceive as a problem and what you seek as a result- for example: instead of saying even though my arm is paining..., say even though my right arm is paining or right forearm is paining..., or even though my car is old and ready to fall apart or it does not start easily, and it causes me anxiety, I now choose to have a new car that is of a ___________ make, model_________, color__________, year _________etc, go for the best of what you want, the top of the line model, here you might find yourself limiting your choices and you will find probably you are too scared to want the best-you can then tap on that, then you can then end on a round of: may this or something better or more suited manifest for me in the highest good of all parties concerned.
Remember, when you want something, always ask for the best.
6) If you find it difficult to say “I love and accept myself” you can say- “I choose to love and accept myself “ or” I want to love and accept myself”
7) Always end a tapping round with a positive note or affirmation. This leaves you feeling better as compared to tapping only on negative issues you want to let go of. This way you let your sub-conscious mind know that you intend to feel positive or that you want to replace your old behavioral patterns with the new better feeling one. It is like you tap out the old and then tap in the new.
For example: even though my right molar is hurting, I love and accept myself and I now choose to experience that it is now pain-free, I choose to feel the happiness of having perfect oral health, healthy teeth and gums. Or even though I feel I do not have the money to spare to buy a new computer, I now choose to allow myself the luxury of spending my money on a new computer.
8) When stating what you want use positive statements as much as possible, like instead of saying ‘’no struggle” say “easy and effortless”
9) Sometimes it helps to state how you want to feel when you are tapping on an issue, for example, even though this __________ (exam, or blood test, or dentist’s visit, or lack of money) is stressing me out, I want to feel relaxed and at peace or I choose to feel relaxed and at peace.
10) It is also a great idea to start tapping in advance or in anticipation of an upcoming stressful event. For example, if you have an interview scheduled for the coming week and it is making you anxious, you can start tapping right away on that anxiety, so by the time the interview comes around, you are totally relaxed and will be able to handle it differently.
You can even tap on anxiety you feel when you are expecting bills to arrive, or payments to be made, or have an upcoming event where you might meet people you do not get along with, or those who stress you out. You do not have to wait until after the event till you are stressed out or angry to start tapping. You will be surprised that if you have tapped away any anxiety or stress you might have felt before the event, the people who might have bothered you just will not have the same effect.
11) Always remember that you have to choose how you want to feel and that you cannot choose how you want another person to feel: example, even though he/she does not love me I want him/her to love me is not an appropriate choice to make, you can instead say though he/she does not love me I want to feel that he/she does love me or appreciate me. In this way you are choosing your preferred emotion and leaving the other party free to make their own choice. So no matter what, you feel loved and appreciated.
12) EFT can also be used to reinforce positive feelings, for example you can make a list of events or things that made you feel really good, like when you got praised by your teacher, or when you won a race, or when you fixed a blown fuse for the first time, or when you got some unexpected money- you can always say- I want more of that. This is like Abraham –Hicks teaches you to focus more on what you want, rather than going on about what you do not want.
13) You can use the ho’oponopono statements like “I do not know what is causing this problem, but I am willing to clear out whatever thoughts and beliefs are creating it, so please forgive me for creating this, I’m sorry, I love you, I thank you.
14) Personally, I use EFT tapping to tap in the power of Sanskrit mantra. Just tap all your tapping spots while chanting the mantra. This does not need a set-up statement.
Or you can use this as a positive reinforcing follow up to any negative issue you want to let go of. For example, when I tap on any situation that causes some anxiety about money, I tap the negative out and follow it up with the “om shreem mahalakhsmiyei swaha” mantra. It leaves me feeling totally charged up and positive.
Remember EFT will not work in the same way for all people, some people may get results faster, some may have to tap a little longer.
